A New Year’s Resolution Part 2

by | Jan 4, 2011 | Uncategorized | 1 comment

It is time to make some new promises to myself. The New year is here and a fresh start has arrived. It may be cold and dismal outside but the hopes and dreams of life keep me warm.

11 promises to myself for 2011.

In no particular order of importance.

  1. Loose 15 more pounds. Yes, last year I lost 65 lbs, but I still have 15 more to go before I reach the ideal BMI for someone my height and age. I figure while I am at it, I may as well go for gold.
  2. Be more Creative I am a creative person. I love making things but lately I haven’t made anything just for the sake of making something. I need to act more on that funny urge I get all the time to go out and make something.
  3. Maintain a healthy weight. Loosing all that weight isn’t any good if I put the pounds back on.
  4. Find contentment with myself. I am a major self-critic. I need to let up on my self-deprecating attitude and recognize when I do well. No more kicking my self in the butt for minor things. It is time to learn to forgive myself.
  5. Wear shorts. This may sound odd but I have refused to wear shorts for almost 8 years. This year will be the year that I bare those legs for all to see.
  6. Bikini? This may be the one thing on this list that doesn’t happen. But, when it does watch out.
  7. Read books. I read contently, but I swear I haven’t finished a book in almost a year. I have become way too addicted to the instant gratification of badly written online fictions. It is time to return to the tomes.
  8. Learn something new everyday. Time to stockpile those useless facts.
  9. Get out of the house more. I am a total homebody. I need to venture beyond those walls more and seek other people out.
  10. Move. I mean this in two ways. One, I need to exercise more. Winter has put a serious damper on my daily walks. (I really hate the cold.) And two, I need more room to stretch my legs. The cramped living space I have could use a few feet around the edges and a higher population density overall.
  11. Stop procrastinating. I need to do those dishes that keep piling up in my sink. I need to write those cover letters that I keep putting off. I need to get my car fixed. Time to do more and stop holding back.

Nicole, you look great. I feel the same pain you do regarding more creative and actually creating stuff just to create it. In all honesty, I think I could basically copy/paste your 11 goals and plop my name on them and call it good. I’m pretty much inline with you regarding changes. (Mind you I’ve gained weight, not lost it like yourself.)
