Did you know that there are currently an estimated 6.6 billion global smartphone users? With the number of people using their devices to shop online, it is crucial that you invest in modern technology to improve the user experience. Businesses that use smart technology have a definite advantage over those that don’t.

So are you wondering if your marketing campaign could benefit from a QR code, or do you simply want to maximize your strategy? In the age of digital marketing, companies and brands are switching their focus to increasing online engagement among consumers.

A QR code acts as a shortcut to brand awareness since it makes it easier for consumers to connect with your brand.

If you’re interested in learning more about marketing with QR codes and how they can benefit your business, then keep reading.

When Do QR Codes Work?

We’ve all seen how QR codes were used during the pandemic to replace menus at restaurants. This was a brilliant way of implementing QR codes as it was an easy way to direct customers to restaurants’ online menus.

When using QR codes you need to find a way to get people to scan them, so it needs to be worth their time. For example, airlines have begun using QR codes on their tickets to help travelers keep all their information on their phones.

So put your thinking caps on and try to find ways you can use QR codes to redirect viewers to your website. Using QR codes in your marketing campaign doesn’t need to break the bank! If you’re a growing business, it’s important not to overspend on marketing.

When Should You Not Use a QR Code?

Like all forms of technology, QR codes do have some drawbacks and can’t be used in every situation.

QR codes need to be scanned and, as such, need to be placed somewhere where you can safely scan them. No one is going to risk their life for a QR code, so putting a QR Code advertising your brand in a train tunnel will just be redundant. People also won’t run after a QR code, so putting a code on a moving object like a car is a big no-no.

A QR code is made to connect the physical world with the online world, so as a general rule adding a QR code on a website doesn’t make sense.

Consider Using a QR Code in Your Marketing

Using a QR code is a great form of proximity marketing, and if used correctly, it can make an impact on your campaign. Like all marketing techniques, QR codes have their pitfalls, but by simply considering where and how to place them, you’ll be able to circumvent them. QR codes are a marketing tool, so you should consider adding them to your next marketing campaign.
