CAMERA RAW

There are many features hiding out in all of the digital SLR camera’s out there. One feature that exists on most SLR cameras is the ability to photograph in RAW formant. This format, unlike jpg or tiffs that are in truth an interpretation of the three light channels (red, green, and blue) that have been flattened, retains all the data that the camera collected.

The more data you have to work with–the better the “correcting” process can turn out.

When you open up a RAW file in Photoshop, it automatically opens the Adobe Camera RAW plugin. This plug in uses many of the common tools in a slightly different format to give more control over making color corrections, before the file is flattened to a format that the computer can deal with better like .tiff or .jpg.

Adobe Camera Raw Plug In lets you edit the temperature of an image, tint, black leverl. Brightness, contrast, and several more options.
